She lay down her head on a tear stained pillow from which her dreams are born.

She lay down her head on a tear stained pillow from which her dreams are born. As night descends upon the land, from her breast her heart feels torn. But she knows, with eyes closed, she can travel afar, far above her cares and woes. As she drifts off to sleep, John O'Dreams as her boatman, to another land she goes.

While awake, her pain she cannot escape, in her dreams, she can't be seen. She floats away, far above the fray, feeling quiet, calm, serene. Her heart holds a secret, in search of release, it has carried far and long. As the heart is opened, those who wish to sing will always find a song.

She lay down her head on a tear stained pillow from which this dream was born. As the dawn rises up and the dew descends, her spirit is reborn. As the boatman departs, he bids his farewell, and he calls, as away he rows, "Within your heart, keep one small, still, secret place where dreams may go."

She lay down her head.
